I always used to like Wildwood best, but really just for the gigantic boardwalk. The beach is too big, though, and now I'm starting to much prefer Long Beach Island. It's so cute there...

Re: Favorites?
Thu, June 24, 2004 - 6:21 AMI've been going to LBI (Brandt Beach and Beach Haven) for the last 5 years. Every year it's been a blast. I've been to all the beaches: Sea Isle, Avalon, Ocean City, Wildwood, etc. but I like Long Beach Island the best. The Jersey shore is far from a resort beach, but some of the best times I have ever had have been there! -

Re: Favorites?
Sat, June 26, 2004 - 3:27 PMThere is one main road that goes all of the way through the island, and then other roads that cross it. In most parts of the island you can stand outside and see the waves of the ocean on one side and the bay on the other, so it's very skinny. There are a TON of art galleries, mostly sculptures of local culture. It's not really a party place like Wildwood tends to be, and it doesn't have a boardwalk. But on the main road (LB Blvd) there are lots of little shops, and pretty much anything you need is in walking distance. As my 4-year-old neice said "they should call this place the very very very very very very very very long beach island."

Wildwood Blues
Wed, May 25, 2005 - 7:16 AMI like Wildwood best. I think only because I have so many memories from childhood, though. The huge boardwalk, the giant ferris wheel, the white sand, funnel cake, prizes, that giant white rollercoaster, thousands of lights, and blocks & blocks of cheap hotels like The Yankee Clipper and The Lotus. My brothers and I would sit on the balcony and play the guitar and make up songs at night while we got drunk and people would clap and cheer as they walked by beneath us. Good times. We're going back again this summer. -
